Rome to Tuscany Day 3

Well I had a wonderful day 3 blog ready to post and it was all lost in the cyber universe somewhere! So let’s try this again!!

We left Rome and headed to Orvieto, Italy

Orvieto is a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria, Italy. Duomo di Orvieto, dating from 1290, has a mosaic facade and houses a marble Pietà sculpture. The Pozzo di San Patrizio is a 16th-century well shaft with a double spiral staircase. An underground cave network attests to the city’s Etruscan roots. Artifacts from this era, like ceramics and bronze items, are on view at the National Archaeological Museum.

While at the Cathedral we noticed Wayne on a phone!! We figured it was dial a confession! Has Wayne been bad?! Ask his wife!! Turns out it was a history of the church for 2 euros.

After visiting the church we walked through the village and shopped and had some lunch!

Michael has to have those anchovies on his! Eek 😬

Michael finds friends everywhere we go! 😂

From Orvieto we headed to our resort hotel Croce di Malta in Montecatini in Tuscany!

After checking in we headed to our Tuscan Farm Dinner where we had a tour of the vineyards and olive grove! We had some of the very best olive oil and balsamic vinegar that I have ever had before. Some pictures of our dinner below!

Pamela our hostess explaining how the olives are processed.

Y’all there is no way when I get home that Italian food will ever compare to what I have had while I have been here! But then again that’s probably a good thing! 😉

On the way back to our hotel we listened to Dean Martin sing his Italian love songs!

Stay turned we are headed to Florence next!
