Capri to Rome Day 10

We departed Carpri using the Funicolare then the JETFOIL.

Some pictures of the electric vehicles in Capri

After getting off the boat we realized we had to go up to reach Sorrento and were very relieved that we had busses to get up to the town.

Our first stop was a woodworking shop. So many beautiful inlaid wood pieces and the demonstration was given by one of the wives of a master woodworker.

Winding up the hillside!

Town of Sorrento

Sorrento (/səˈrɛnt/Italian: [sorˈrɛnto]NeapolitanSurriento [surˈrjendə]) is a town overlooking the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. A popular tourist destination due to its variety of small antique shops[3] and location on the Amalfi Coast, it can be reached easily from Naples and Pompeii as it is at the south-eastern end of the Circumvesuviana rail line. The town is most known for its small shops selling ceramicslacework and marquetry(woodwork).[4]

After the woodworking demonstration and a little shopping we found a lovely cafe to have a cappuccino and fruit crepe!

Then we headed to our bus for a “short walk”...well short walks here in Rome can be 20 to 30 or more! 😆
We reached the bus and headed towards Rome! We drove along the Amalfi coast line. We were not able to stop but we were close!

The Amalfi Coast (ItalianCostiera Amalfitana) is a stretch of coastline on the northern coast of the Salerno Gulf on the Tyrrhenian Sea, located in the Province of Salerno of southern Italy.

Here is a picture of the umbrella trees in Rome ~

We had our farewell group dinner at a local restaurant in Rome with some opera entertainment

They celebrated on of our guys in the groups birthday

After dinner some of us hailed cabs to head to the Trevi Fountain so we could toss the coins!

Italy was beautiful and we all have our favorite places we visited but I think we all enjoyed Capri and their laid back and relaxed  way of living! 😎

Day 11 ~
All packed up this morning and ready to head to the airport for our journey home to our family and friends and fur babies!  ✈️ 🏡  🐈 🐕 🐶 🐱
