Custer to Spearfish Canyon

Today we left Custer State Park but before breakfast  Michael went out to see if he could see any wildlife and he encountered a Bison! 😬 He was hanging just outside to the left of our room by a path we walked on before dinner last night!

Below is a picture of the State Lodge!

Off to Mount Rushmore after breakfast!

Mount Rushmore was amazing to see in person. We all took the Presidential Scenic walk that included 200+stairs about a 1 1/2+ miles with a lot of beautiful views. Let me tell you those stairs and inclines on that walk are not for the faint of heart. We felt victorious!

We had lunch at Mount Rushmore and started with ice cream that was Thomas Jefferson's Vanilla Ice Cream recipe. It was delicious.

Next we headed to Deadwood a historic mining town and we saw the chair that Wild Bill Hitchcock was killed in!

Next we headed to Spearfish Canyon! An absolutely beautiful areas. Once we arrived we took a 3 mile walk to see a waterfall before dinner.

Dinner was delicious. I think I will share a few pictures with y'all. 😉

Tomorrow we leave this beautiful setting and head towards Cody, Wyoming!

Stay Tuned.....
