Day 2 Edinburgh

What an awesome day!  We had breakfast and got to try Haggis for the 1st time.  Not too bad.  Then we were off for a tour.  We toured the city some more then off to the Edinburgh Castle for a tour.  Very fun and very impressive.  Afterwards we had a free day on our own.

 Our group!

Below is a picture of a tartan being loomed!

We had lunch at a wonderful place called Maxies,   Most of us had the fish and chips...yummy! David had the prawns and declared them wonderful and Michael had the Haggis served with mashed potatoes and parsnips...at least I think that was the right combination.

Then we headed off to see the city and shop!  And shop and shop and walk we did.  We were in search of the Pandora store and on the lookout for some other special items and we found them all but  I believe we walked almost the  whole city of Edinburgh.
Wayne worked the map and Susan was the lead.

I would say we had some success..wouldn't you?

Pat found out Michael was a Retired from the fire service and took us by the fire house!
Made Michael's day!

We are back at the hotel preparing for an early morning as we are off to Ireland.  See pictures below of our hotel the Marriott Dalmahoy a Marriott Resort & Country Club!  It is beautiful and we have had a wonderful stay here.

The weather has been great today is the only day we had rain while out walking but it cleared up and was an absolute gorgeous sunny day for us to walk, see the city and shop!

My fitbit says I walked 15,740 steps - 4.48 miles and 23 floors and I got 7 leafs!  Woo Hoo I just love day's that the fitbit calls me an over achiever.  LOL

Tomorrow we have a several hour ride to get to the ferry...which I am very excited about.  I have never been on a ferry so can't wait.  So stay tuned to hear from us in Ireland!!!!!
