Dual Travelers : Paris Day 5

Good evening from the Seine River! We are moving along the river tonight traveling to Vernon, France.

We started the morning off with a yummy breakfast....sorry no pictures I guess brain doesn't work for breakfast photo. ;)

After breakfast Michael was off with 7 of our group to see more of Paris while, Grace, Pat and I stayed back to get some rest. Sounds like they had some grand adventures during the day! They were dropped off at Winston Churchill Monument and there were some Gypsies picking pockets! The Viking guide jumped off the bus quickly and shouted at the "you thieves leave" in both English and French! They were then off to the metro towards Notre Dame and went into the Shakespeare and Co bookstore to go in and check it out more. Then you went off to walk through the neighborhood and visited St. Michael's monument. Then off to lunch at the Notre Dame Cafe....well some ate lunch some had desert which appears to make the waiter grumpy because he said "people come to eat". Guess desserts aren't eating. Who knew!!! But desserts here can cost more than meals. So not sure why he wasn't happy.

Then they hopped on the metro and went to the Hôtel des Invalides this was originally a hospital for wounded veterans built by King Louis IXV. It is the place where Napoleon Bonoparte and other notable figures are buried. It is also the museum of the Army. They spent about 3 hours visiting the museum.

The Pont Alexandre III is a deck arch bridge that spans the Seine in Paris. It connects the Champs-Élysées quarter with those of the Invalidesand Eiffel Tower. The bridge is widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant bridge in the city.^[2]^[3] It is classified as a French Monument historique.

They strolled the area after the museum visit while waiting for the bus to pick them up to bring them back to the boat.

Dinner was another night of absolute deliciousness!
