We are off again on another adventure. This time we are blessed that we are able to join our Pastor, Dr Drew and his wife Judy Landry, along with friends from our church on a Pilgrimage to Israel! We didn't say a lot before we left about our upcoming trip for security reasons so we didn't draw too much attention to ourselves. But you need to know the excitement for this trip had been building for over a year for us. We departed Spotswood Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 20th! We flew from Dulles to Vienna then changed planes and onward to Tel Aviv, Israel arriving on Tuesday, April 21st at about 3 pm. Below are some pictures of us at the Mediterranean Sea! Never in our lives did we every think we would be standing there. We had a little bit of time to walk around before dinner and bed we were all exhausted for sure!
Special thanks to Patricia Cropp-Martin for taking notes and sharing them and allowing me to use them in my blog.
“Boker
Tov” (Good Morning in Hebrew)
After
our long flight from Dulles Airport on Monday, April 20th, we
finally arrived in Tel Aviv Tuesday, April 21, 2015. From the airport we were taken to our first
hotel, Dan Panorama Tel Aviv. Before
dinner, we all went walking and sightseeing along the Mediterranean Sea! Beautiful!
Some of our group even put their feet in it!
We
could also see Jaffa (Joppa) from where we were. Jaffa is one of the oldest towns in Israel,
believed to have been founded by Japheth, son of Noah. A few people from our group actually went and
visited and explored.
After
dinner and hot showers it was off to bed for rest to start our pilgrimage in
the morning!
