Italy Day 3

A couple pictures from day 2 when the guys went in search of the Kabobs restaurant! Mark was their photographer. But all 3 of them got one. 😉

After breakfast we headed to our buses to go to Florence. Most of the group took a walking tour and a leather making demonstration since we were here in 2019 the 6 of us opted to do Florence on our own until time for our concert. We did visit the leather and gold shops and perhaps a purchase or two were made. 😉

Next we headed to the restaurant next door to enjoy a very leisurely lunch since they had ac. Yes it is hot here. 🤪

Ristorante Boccadama

More like lemonade than soda although it is listed as Italian Soda. Very good.

Bruschetta al pomodoro, mozzarellae olio extravergine

Prosciutto e Melone
Parma ham with fresh melon

Insalata caprese

Insalata Toscana
Wild greens & arugula, pear, goat cheese, walnuts & tuscan dried figs.

Pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale (This has a wild boar sauce) and of course Michael got it. He declared it delicious. No one is as adventurous as he is when it comes to eating.

Insalata Contadina
13 €
Fresh mixed salad with chicken breast, olives, tomato, yogurt and croutons.

Lasagne tradizionali al forno

The house specialty: home made creamy beef lasagne

Penne integrali con datterino, burrata e basilico
Whole weat penne pasta with cherry tomato, burrata cheese and basil.

Crostata di mele & cannella con gelato alla crema

Affogato

After 2 hours we headed to the church where the concert was going to be held. Churches aren’t always air conditioned so we thought it wise to acclimate and be ready.

Beautiful little church from the early 17th century Located on Piazza Giotto, it has an entrance with 3 arches, a very tall and beautiful bell tower with clock. A visit is recommended if you are in the area!

Nativity Scene

More of the Nativity

The church was beautiful and the above display was a wow moment when we walked into room.

A few photos of the concert taken by Phil Barefoot of Celebration Concert Tours International. We sang a song on the front steps of the church before going inside to sing. I will try to find a picture or two later to share.

After concert we had free time so of course we found another restaurant. 🫣 Most of us stuck to a dessert. Michael got the ravioli because he enjoys “real” food rather than desserts. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Afterwords we headed to our buses for ride back to hotel.

Saturday the six of us are staying in Montecatini-Terme and enjoying some free time while others go to Pisa and Lucca. We
Have been to Pisa and want to explore more of Montecatini before our evening concert.

Stay tuned for more adventures 😁
